I am exasperated. I have went around and around with my dealer about my new 2013 Winnebago Vista 35b. We took possession of the coach on Jan 19th and did a quick shake down run that same weekend. After driving for about a half an hour the front drivers side slide right near the drivers seat developed and incessant squeak akin to styrofoam. Upon closer inspection of the slide I noticed the exterior bottom front corner was roughly a quarter inch from the coach and 1/8" from engaging the seal. The gap resolved itself the further it went up until completely engaged on the top front corner. The other two corners were engaged well too. so tight that a credit card would be tough to pass through. additionally, the other two slides are fully engaged.
We made an appointment with the dealer and showed them the issue along with other minor things. He stated that, "it doesn't look right." A week goes by with no word. Contact the dealer and they state they jogged it and while it just barely touches the seal now, it's as good as it gets. I call Winnie, they state they never said that. They recommend disengaging the motor, pulling the drive shaft and jumping a gear. I called lippert and they state never to align it that way. The dealer pulls a chalk line on the bottom of the slide and its apparent that the center of the coach wall bellies out near the front corner causing the gap. Dealer wants to increase torque, I say no way. In my mind it would cause undo stress on the three corners already engaged properly.
The dealer states they aren't willing to jump the gear for fear of damaging the full body paint.
They won't contact lippert because they say they have to go through Winnie for warranty issues.
I have done exhaustive searches here and google with no similar results or solutions. Any suggestions? An I making a big deal about a slide not compressing a gasket. I think this will be one of those issues that won't be fully realized until a day AFTER its out of warranty. Pic attached. I know it looks slight by the pic but the slide fascia is at least an 1/8" from touching the seal let alone compressing it. I'm sure water would be driven into the coach at highway speed if its raining. Comments? Suggestions?
