It may just be a sap smear or a marring from the bark or wood fiber and can be removed with PrepSol, a wax and tar and silicone remover, no abrasive, available at auto parts stores that sell paint supplies, also at Walmart. If that does not do it, then try the scratch and light polishes that are CLEAR COAT SAFE. Hope this may help, Happy Trails Bert
