As you can see, I have a problem with the tire, and i have no spare. I called Good Sam and they said they might be able to bring a replacement, but they do not fix flats. I would drive to a local place, but I have found none that carry this tire, a GoodYear G670 RV 245/70R19.5. If I pull it out, i'd know if it went into the tire, but I'd void the extended road hazard warranty and if Good Sam could not find a tire, I'd have to be towed somewhere until they could order one. I am about 120 miles from home, and I am thinking of just driving home and letting the local Ford dealer take care of it, working within my extended warranty road hazard coverage. I'd go slow, monitor the TPMS for temp/pressure changes, and stop and check every half hour. When this is all said and done, I will definitely carry a spare! Anyone have any thoughts or advice on my situation?

I would call a local tire shop and drive to it, if you head home what if the screw comes out, your just stuck, get it fixed and drive home with no worries...

Had one just like it, a big tire shop fixed it for $25. in Marana Arizona, took about ten minutes. Inside rear dually.

Side note:

Left there and went to put gas in my rig at the corner station and noticed my toad had suffered a flat rolling from the tire shop to the gas station, went right back for another round, which they did for $12. I gave them another $20 for beer after work.

From the looks of your picture you may be in luck.
The screw may only penetrated the tread of the tire. Have you put a soapy solution over the screw to see if its actually leaking?
If it is not you could take a chance and slowly remove it while watching and listening for an air leak.
If you can safely remove the screw then you should be able to drive home , while doing as you posted watching your tire pressure and checking the tire.

You don't appear to have that serious of a problem. The screw is in the outer most tread rib where the tire is the thickest. Simply find a tire shop that can repair truck tires. Take it to them. they will check it for leakage and if necessary dismount the tire and patch the puncture from the inside of the tire. I've had two of mine done that way with no problems.

If its possible remove it by unscrewing. If it leaks put it back in and go to the nearest repair shop or drive it home
Removing it should not void the warranty.

As stated before get some soapy solution wet down the screw while slowly unscrewing it. If no bubbles remove it completly. If you get bubbles or you are worried about doing this call Les Schwab in Livermore to check. Here at least Les Schwab will do motorhome and truck tire repair and they are probably less than 10 miles from you.

Good news/bad news...

God news...
As others have stated it looks to be a small screw that may only be in the tread.

Get it soapy, grab head with vice grip and ROCK it, that will help to determine if it is short or long, if short the screw may pop out, if long it won't move and it will bubble if through the tire.

Next unscrew to see if leaks, if it does screw back in.

Bad news...
Often punctures in this area are NOT repairable!

Yes they can be patched and hold air, but they are near the edge of the belts and can cause structure damage, many tire shops will refuse to patch it.

You should purchase a plug kit, easy to use in an emergency, many tire shops plug unless you specify PATCH ONLY.

If you have road hazard coverage then you pay for wear on tire and get new one.

If you have it, insist on it for this as it is cheap insurance.

By the looks of things, you have about 1 1/4" of tread where the screw is. It looks like a self tapping metal screw and I would guess that most metal in a MH is not that thick, if it was picked up in a dealer lot or a cg. I would guess that it is a 3/4" screw by looking at it. If you try to drive on it for any distance, just turning the wheel to the left will pull it out, because of where it is located. I would do the soap solution and twist the screw out before you travel any distance.

Success! I used soap to check for leaks, and there was none before and after I unscrewed it. It turned out to be a 1/2 inch screw, so I am confident there is no damage to the belts. Thanks again to everyone who posted. It is great to have the wisdom and experience of you all when something like this happens!

Wisdom and experience!! Maybe/maybe not. It's no problem when telling you what to do with your coach rather than our own. Actually it's kind of like spending your money not ours.
