Smile SE coastal trip- motorhome newbies

We have just purchased a Fleetwood Discovery 40' diesel pusher. We are planning our first trip starting in Biloxi,Ms at Cajun Rv park on Sept 4th (2days) and lasting 2 weeks. We are planning on exploring the gulf coast (Miss, Alabama, Florida) and have to be in Auburn, Al on Sept 17 for Texas A&M vs Auburn football game. We were just wondering about good parks to stay as well as suggestions about places to go and things to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I do a lot of research at RV Park Reviews - Trusted Reviews of Campgrounds & RV Parks , and I do my best to read between the lines on park reviews... sometimes you'll see that bad reviews are based on something totally personal and the person was just grumpy over the smallest of things.

Obviously, Pensacola would be on my list. Don't get in the water if you have any open cuts......

We stayed in Cajun RV Park a couple of years ago. It's decent. We spent a few days on Dauphin Island, Alabama and really enjoyed it. Next stop was NAS Pensacola. If you're active or retired military, that's a good place to stay.

Ho hum rv park in carrabelle Fl.

Only if you want to lay back and enjoy.

I am going there sometime in September myself.

Ho Hum RV Park offers a quiet enviroment in a No Children Park.

Coastline RV Resort - Eastpoint Florida. Great park right on the bay. Short drive to St. George Island on the Gulf.

We stayed at Cajun RV Park several times, it right on the coast in view of the gulf beach. Its very close to the Biloxi casinos. The RV park is mostly grass and gravel, would rate it 3.5 out of 5. If you want concreate pads with better amentaties try Majestic RV Park on pass road. It is also close to the Casinos but a mile or so from the beach. Rate it a 4.

Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores AL is great but stays pretty full so check it out. Beautiful beach is close by. Sugar Sand RV park is another great place to stay around Gulf Shores but isn't as close to the beach. Ho Hum in Carrabel FL is nice. You need to visit the Blue Angels home base in Pensacola. A wonderful museum full of planes and you might get to see a practice that is breathtaking so check the schedule on the Blue Angels website.

Pensacola Beach RV Resort is great. A little expensive, a really nice place to be. We also liked Emerald Coast RV resort in Panama City. The sites around the lake are best. FYI, the Naval Aviation Museum is free, but you will want to make a donation after you see it. The Blue Angels practice on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and it is also free. On Wednesdays, you can meet with the pilots and crews.

Topsail Hill State Park near Santa Rosa Beach Florida is a great place, if you can get in. They have a shuttle to an almost private area of beach, or you can walk it from the park. Reservations are a must and there may not be anything available.
