You really should look at Western RV Alpines, they went out of business in 2009, but are excellent high quality rv's that can be bought for a reasonable price now. They are all diesel pushers, with cummins engines they didn't skimp on HP, no tag axles, (a plus in my book). They built mid-door models in their 38' and 40' models. Huge support in their Alpine club......

Why is that a plus? We are just starting to learn about Class A's, so please be gentle.

They most likely have already bought something since it's been 3 1/2 years since they posted this.

The way to resurrect an old thread!
Oh well, let me jump in if I may?
My target: 40' minimum, midship entrance (DW request), DP, side radiator, no slides, tag axle, Alcoa wheels (no "simulators"!)......these were all my requirements. Vintage if possible,.....with flair uncommon to see on the road.
No offense to anyone, but most (not all) newer rigs look alike. Most look like a big square box, on skinny wheels, aerodynamic like a brick, with paint full of swirls and swipes (since I enjoy my single malt, and know my limitations, looking at some paint jobs, would make me think that I had few too many! ).
I forgot about the tag in a hurry (I would LOVE to have it!) when I met "Kristin". Everything I want except the tag. Oh well. 3176 Cat, Alison World, absolutely PRISTINE condition inside and out,.......HAPPY!
What's even better,....no payments, she's all mine

For the record, and to clear up any confusion that may exist re: this thread, DW and I are looking for a mid-entry (ENTRY door not in FRont of passenger seat) motor home in the $100k to $150k range.
We are in no great hurry to purchase one, but are actively looking.
Thanks for all your input.
Safe travels.

I too have been looking and I really like the 2016 Tiffin Allegro 31sa or 32sa with these options, ford gas engine, 6 speed transmission, fiberglass roof, 22.5 tire size, household refrigerator, fireplace, dash gps and just like it. Price is about $167,000 msrp so ought to be $120,000 or so nee. I am waiting a couple years to possibly find a used 2016.
Compared this to Thor Hurricane, Coachman Pursuut and Fleetwood Bounder.

No Tag Axle is not a plus in my mind. I have had both and I can tell you the tag axle rides better, drives better and stays in its lane better. Yes, it will cost you the price of two extra tires every seven years or so. Well worth it in my book.

Most manufacturers offer "custom builds" I purchased my 2013 Thor Palazzo 33.3 new and have been very happy with this "entry level" mid-entry DP.

We want a mid entry coach. We don't give much consideration to front door coaches during our search.
