I look at it as like being on a plane. Since there are only the two of us if co pilot wants to get up and move around when conditions allow so be it. Sit in back and read a book, no problem. When the traffic picks up or the weather turns bad. Come back up front and belt in. The only belts we have are in the front.

In Ontario, a passenger must wear a seat belt if they "occupy a seating position for which a seat belt assembly has been provided".

We can sleep 4 and have 4 seat belts, if we had more than 4 passengers, they don't have to wear belts.

What I don't know, can the DW fetch me a coffee as we toodle down the road. I suspect not legally.

Only front 2 passengers. But if it’s complete safety then buckle everyone in.
