Securing Items in the Basement

Any ideas about how to secure lawn chairs, ladders and other stuff in the pass through storage compartments In a class a motorhome? My stuff won't stay in the pass through area and it keeps sliding into the access doors. I need to secure it but do not want to drill holes for attaching hooks, nets, bungee cords etc. Don't want to create any water leaks etc. Has anyone came up with a solution?

Put some bulkheads in?
Make some panels to fit between stuff.
Use empty storage containers to take up space till you fill them up!
Put slide out trays in, they take up some space but are more convenient to use.
In our '02 Dutch Star I found that turning two folding table sideways would just fit between the frame for the bay door and hold stuff in.
Maybe a 2 X 4 cut to fit vertically in each bay?
Seems like there are many ways!

Don't you have common walls between the pass-thru sections? Put an eyehook in the horizontal wall, then use bungie cords to hold things in place. Can't see how that would cause a leak, or anything.

I know you don't want to drill holes, but I don't see a way around it,...at least a couple. Even if you installed bulkhead...you have to secure it somehow.

Sorry, just have to say it -- duct tape. Which goes with this technical support: if you can't fixture it with a hammer, it's electrical.

It sounds to me like you need more stuff. My better half has the compartment for outdoor furniture, etc.. stuffed so full of stuff that it couldn't move if it wanted too! :face palm:

I use industrial Velcro that has the adhesive on the walls and the non adhesive for wraps for the ladders, chair legs and anything else that might shift around.

There you go! If there is any room between items, place an empty plastic container or an egg carton...it'll be full before long.

I bought two ratcheting cargo bars from Harbor Freight Ratcheting Cargo Bar. They span between the two cargo bay walls and create a nice little barrier so stuff doesn't slide around.
You can mount them mid-height, further up or lower depending on your particular need or situation.

I added 4 tie down buckles to each cargo hold,total used 30,used 1/4" stainless bolts,and put a dab of lexel caulk under each washer,works great,no leaks,I put chairs in center area with ratchet straps going across to hold in place.On driver side I use a tie wrap to hold end of ratchet strap to buckle so I dont have to run back and forth,just hold strap up,and slide chair under and across.All outboard holds I use bungee cords to hold everything in place,as I despise rattles.If caulk or rubber washers are used you should have no leaks.

I use truckers spreader bars. They use them to hold pallet loads in place. Harbor freight has inexpensive models for lighter loads. no holes, no leaks, completely portable.
