Select battery type on Xantrex

I'm new to IRV, so excuse me if I should be on a different forum. I have an '05 Monaco Cayman with a Xantrex Freedom 458 inverter/charger and just had the batteries replaced. I've tried to select the battery type to "wet" but it seems to be stuck on "Gel 1". I think I'm doing the procedure right, but maybe there is a trick to it. Any ideas?

13.6 is ok for a flooded cell battery, but 13.8 is too high.

Page 7 tells how to change battery types.

The float voltage will vary according to the temperature probe reading. You are using the temperature probe? If not the float is fixed on the 70 degree setting of 13.5 for wet or 13.6 for gel1. See page 20.

Thanks for the replies so far. The page 7 referred to was the procedure that I tried, with all the possible variations, and it stays selected on "Gel 1". Any others?

I had one of those in my last coach and if I remember correctly the light has two functions. Depending on what mode the unit is in the light means different things. It shows the battery type when in the setup mode and if is charging when in normal mode. Re-read the entire instruction book and it will tell you.

Hey Cannon Man, this will probably help you. I found the tech support # for Xantrex (800-670-0707) and they told me that I had to do the setup on the remote rather than on the box itself. I had glossed over the page about that because the picture looked like a different panel. I found out that it was just how you need to "visualize" where the numbers and options are when in setup mode.
Here is the manual for the remote: http://www.xantrex.com/documents/Acc...rs%20Guide.pdf

Thanks to all for your responses.
