Seriously looking at a late 90's early 2000's HR Endeavor

I've been RVing for over 40 years, so I know all the ins and outs of the systems. My main question is....is there anything with the Freightliner chassis in those years that was an issue? Anything odd or badly designed that should be fixed/upgraded? I'm a wrench and will do as much of the maint as I have the tools for.

Thanks in advance

I have a 2003 HR endeavor and I don't have a freightliner chassis. Mine came with a roadmaster R8 chassis. There were a few models of early roadmaster chassis that had an issue with rear control arms cracking and it's a relatively expressive fix. Mine was not one of the effected chassis, but there is a lot of info out there on the web about this issue.

Love my Endeavor..been truly trouble free and a quality built coach. Good luck!

We have a 98 35DP. 5.9 275HP Freightliner Chassis. The only things so far are the exhaust manifold (cracked) and the head gasket (leaking). There are updated parts for both. Cummings went to a 2 piece manifold and now manufacture a re-designed gasket. Since there are updates I would think that there have been more then a few problems.
Since I'm not a wrench by any stretch I'm having it repaired to the tune of about 6K Also, ours is a rear radiator and that and the charge cooler seem to collect quite a bit of road grime.
On the up side I get 9.5 MPH pulling a Equinox toad.
