Thank you for this post. I just replaced the Kitchen & bath sink air valves, $6.29 each at Lowes.. Question,, is their a valve for the shower.. The problem was while showering, gray tank close to full, water would suck out of the Kitchen "P" trap... So I wont know for a few days if I fixed anything.

My wife has complained occasionally about an odor under the sink where the garbage can is located so I assumed it was the garbage. Now I will replace that valve and I bet that solves the problem!

I have had the same issue but only when traveling. I just replaced the vent valve but haven't traveled with it installed to check it. I have my fingers crossed since a visual inspection of the old valve found nothing apparently wrong...rubber seal still flexible and sealed well.

I had the same odor issue and replaced the vent covers on the roof with the Cyclone spinners, took care of the problem. A year later the wind blew one of them off the roof. I replaced it with a 360 product one and for some reason my odor issue was back. I'm going to re-install another Cyclone spinner now.

I have a cyclone vent but not installed yet...I like to make one fix at a time so I know what the problem was.
