Shade for Apex awning

We have the Carefree Apex awning our 42' Monaco. While certainly a great looking awning, it doesn't really provide much shade unless the coach is parked in the perfect spot. Is there a good side-shade option to hang off the end of this awning?

Our last coach we just slid a shade into the utility channel of the awning but I don't think that is an option with the Apex. Maybe I'm wrong? Thoughts?

Not familiar with your awning but should be an extra channel in the roller.
Now not being familiar with your awning, if your awning has a wind sensor, I would be very careful as to any additions to the roller system.

Ask me how I know

We also have the Apex awnings on our rig. As far as I can determine there is no channel in the awning to hang anything from. Remember that the roller tube is attached to the MH and not the extended framework.
I'll go look at the service manual again though.
Nope, doesn't appear to be much of any way to do it unless you extended the awning, turned off the autoretract, got a ladder and hung it from the fascia. I don't think it's strong enough to take that and survive a wind either.
I need to order a new dual awning control box, ours powers on, goes through the check cycle then may either stay on or turn itself off. I also found something leaking from it and it smells like burned wiring. Don't really like spending $466 right now though!

Thats is what I came up with as well and it really isn't a practical option. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't a solution that I was missing. Thanks!
