Share thought?

Hi,
I am new to RV-ing and looking to buy a used mh.
Looking for advise please!
Looking at a 2008 Winnebago voyage 38J and a 2010 sightseer 37L
Voyage with the workhorse 8.1 24.000 and the sightseers with the Ford 22.000
Can you let me know difference and advise?
Both are same price...
Thanks in advance!
Marco

Which one has the best service records with it?
Which one has the most comfortable layout (floor plan)?
Tire condition, batteries, any rust or corrosion on the underside. Have you gone on top and looked for the condition of the roof?
Which one has the amenities you would like or has ones you don't like or could live without?
How many will each sleep?
Have you driven both? Which one feels most comfortable to you when driving?
I'm sure you will hear more but this is a start.
Good Luck,
Lynn

Great advice from Lynn. I would add that with all else as far as amenities and floor plan being equal, my preference would be the Voyage with the Workhorse. That's an 8.1 liter, lower revving engine than the Ford and the Allison transmission is outstanding. I had a Workhorse for five years and if they still made them new (maybe someday) I would have bought another one.

the 2008 voyage looks great but I saw some hairline cracks on the passenger side. the former owner got a buy out from Winnebago....
does that cause problems in the future? and does it change the value of the MH?

All other things being equal, I would choose the more robust Workhorse W24 chassis. However, all else is NOT equal, starting with a 2 year age difference. I do not think the W24 vs Ford F53 is a major deciding point, so I would just list it in the "PRO" column when comparing the two, along as with any other factor you can determine. Including which one the wife likes better, even if its just the color of the bed spread. Then buy the one that has the most PROS, or maybe the fewest CONs would be a better way to think of it.

Send a message via Yahoo to Dsrtrider
Voyage or Sightseer

The Voyage is about 2 models up from a Sightseer and has more quality finishes and standard options. Is it a W22 or W24? I prefer the workhorse over the Ford anyday Better handling and Transmision

Marco,

How new to RVing are you? As I did years ago, I rented many different types and was fortunate that my dad would loan me his occasionally to decide exactly what I needed/wanted. If you haven't been rving, I would encourage you to a least rent one for a long weekend or longer. Floor plan is important, but only you can decide what floor plan works for your needs. Once that is decided, then you can get a lot of comments on chassis, engine, etc etc. from the great people that visit this website.

Love Winnebago. Quality and the best manufacturer to stand behind their RV's.

Cheers!

Well, plans changed rapidly!
The voyage had a lot of issues.
But we came across a 2006 holiday rambler vacationer 37pct in immaculate shape, and we bought it yesterday!
Waiting for safety and etest.
And we will take it out next weekend.
