She's been painted.

Just returned home from picking up the motorhome in Indiana, and she's sporting a new paint job. We came up with a "quiet" and simple design, with colors that we think will look good for a long time.

Mike's Custom Painting did the work. The vinyl graphics were stripped, coach then sanded and primed, blue-inked, then sanded, followed by a 4 color paint scheme. Then 2 clear-coats, wet-sanded, then 2 more clear coats. Awnings, lights, and other fixtures removed, prepped and painted seperately; then re-installed and sealed.

It is a Horizon, and we don't mind saying so, but we chose to have the "Horizon" name painted only on the rear cap; no names or logos anywhere else on the coach. We think it looks good, and Mike and his crew turned out a really nice job.

I only have one photo that DW took with her iPad today, (I was washing it; hose spray visible at the front), but you get the idea.

CaptBill,

The paint on your coach looks fantastic. Some of the new coaches have paint schemes that are getting to busy for me. You should get a lot of complements from other coach owners.

Very nice & classic. I prefer simple the simple graphics myself. Too much "movement" in the swooshies is annoying. Guess that's why we got what we got.

Mike'sCustomPainting (dot com) is in Bremen, Indiana. They do some factory painting for several manufacturers, as well as for you and me. I think they have a video up on their website that show's their paint process.

I went with them because I have a friend who had his Alfa done 3 and a half years ago, including complete replacement of the fiberglass sidewalls (due to the well-documented Alfa delamination problems). His coach still looks brand new. I forgot to mention that at Mike's, the 45' paint booths are also ovens, so the paint is "baked" for some set period, to assist the curing. It's really quite an operation, nestled in a little town with a population of only about 4000.

OP, your MH looks very good! You all did a fine job picking colors/scheme. Being that the MH is 'over 10 years old' it sure does not look it and you should not have any issues with RV parks that have issues with them.
