If its park outside your home I'd leave it plugged in. Will keep battery's charged and the fridge can be emptied and turn off for extended periods or just leave full between trips never know when you may need to move in hurry.

Agree with 007! Wish I had the ability to keep my plugged in, but still looking for that one mile extension cord!

We don't have electric where we park so we always turn off the electric control in the coach and the control switch in the battery bay. We assume that there is no parasitic drain on the batteries with both switches off. We use the coach most weekends and have not had a problem with the batteries. Joe

Ours have always been plugged in 24/7. That is the best for it as long as you have power available. If not, you'll have to shut everything down, open fridge doors to prevent mold, etc.

We keep ours plugged in since we normally take weekend trips every other weekend. We live in a double wide in a Mobile Home Park and have two lots and an extra pedestal that we run 30A to.

I had a '92 Allegro. It had an older style charger/converter with no intelligent circuitry and cooked the batteries on me when I left it plugged in for the winter. If you have a newer charger/converter that monitors the batteries and stops charging when full then keep it plugged in if you can.

We have ours parked next to the house and I only plug it in on weekends for battery charging. Both refridgs are empty, dried and slightly open. When I unplug I also place the RV in STORE mode. I also lift the levelers and run the genny & engine once a week if we are not going anywhere.

We keep our's plugged in and don't forget to check the water level every 30-45 days.

Yes, batteries are checked on every run. I keep a gallon of DISTILLED water in the RV just for that. I also run both a/c's in order to have a load on the jenny.

On our KIT 5er, I either use a solar panel to keep the batteries topped off, or in sun-less weather, run a programmable timer on an extension cord set to turn on an hour or so every day to keep the batteries well topped off. That practice got us over 10 years on the original set of Trojan 105 deep cycle batteries - and now still on the 2nd set, and going strong!

Am doing the same with the Winnie MH...
