Shurflo tank

I was thinking on installing a Shurflo Accumulator tank, but my pump is hidden behind a partition under the bathroom cabinet (sink) where would I put this tank ??

You can put the tank anywhere as long as it is on the cold water side of the system.

Why Shurflo? For the same $40-50 dollars go to Lowes/Home Depot and get a 1+ gallon metal tank rather than the 1 liter plastic thing from Shurflo. Put the much larger tank anywhere and run a hose to a "T" fitting in ANY cold water hose downstream of the pump....

If it is a steel un-lined or un-coated tank , you're gonna have brown water after sitting for awhile.

If you're going to spend money for a tank and spend money/time for installation, why not just put in a better pump. A variable speed pump will solve your issues. I use a Flojet VSD pump. It's quiet and has enough power to supply a 5/8" garden hose that can wash my coach.

They are made for drinking water systems!
The "bigger, better mousetrap" (pump) still must turn on and off at EACH use and with 45 years in the electrical/electronic world, I believe that any switch has just so many "operations" before failure. Our 1+ gallon accumulator which is made for potable water systems and never has brown water will allow at least two flushings or cooking an entire meal before the pump comes on.

As I said, if it doesn't have a liner or membrane, it will rust.

H.Miller.....I respect your input, but we all eliminated our fears of electric windows in cars, back in the 80's, so I think electric items are a lot more durable now. My pump is going on 7 years old and you can't hear it running. An accumulator tank is not going to give you a more powerful shower and takes a lot of space and plumbing.

Yeah but it would be nice to go to the bathroom and wash your hands without the pump kicking on twice at 2am and waking everyone up! Anywhere on the pressure side of your pump will work! This is one of my spring prodjects too.

I can't hear my running! Yours must be mounted in the bathroom. The point of the better quality pump, properly installed, is that you don't hear it.

I thought the point of those shower heads that can never be shut off was so you would hear the pump and realize that you didn't turn the water all the way off.

I have a switch near my bed that disables my water pump. Off at night, on upon wakening.

I wished I had that when I had my 5er and the pump diaphragm needed cleaning. It would randomly decide it needed to increase the pressure; in the middle of the night. Only one switch in the galley.

had the same problem with a prowler tt we had at one time. it was a small screen on the pump inlet plugged. pump would come on at night for a few seconds and wake you up. cleaned it, and was great.
I see yours is a 1996 Don, have you looked at that? Or are you having other problems??
