Side view camera & Winegard satellite help?

As I'm looking at the options for my new coach and some have me puzzled.

Not sure I know what the following means?

Side view cameras displayed onto rear view monitor screen with smart phone connection?

I want to be able to watch TV while underway (for passengers) and will most likely use Direct TV. Do I want #4 and is it a good system?

1. Winegard automatic dome satellite dish - for dish std/hd Direct TV & Bell Canada
2. Winegard automatic open face satellite dish for Dish - For Dish HD std & Bell HD TV.
4. Winegard automatic open face swm satellite dish - for Direct TV std HD TV.
4. Winegard in motion dome satellite dish - for Dish Std/HD TV, Direct TV Std & Bell Canada.

Thanks for your help

The side view camera work when you turn a turn signal on, the rear view camera will show a view down the side of your RV, basically eliminating the blind spot.
Smart phone connection can mean a bunch of different things, generally it will mean you can use your radio to make and receive telephone calls. If it is with the rear view camera, I haven't seen one of those yet.

For TV viewing while traveling you will have to have a in-motion satellite antenna on your roof of course.
I think Winegard has come out with a new antenna that will do HD in-motion, if not then all you can get is a SD antenna. I have added a link to Winegard for there satellite antennas.

Be aware that if the display is in view of the driver it is illegal in most states I have read of to allow "entertainment video" to be displayed. It is a possible distraction to the driver. RVs with forward mounted TVs and properly installed entertainment centers with TV/DVD/USB video capability are designed to prevent such an action.

Hi Bob, you lost me! Not because what you said is wrong it's because I still don't understand exactly what this "phone to camera" is?

Please explain the feature set so I know what the option is and why I should or shouldn't consider it?

I wasn't addressing your "phone to camera" question, I don't have enough information to speak to that. Provide model and year of coach and any information on your camera display, etc. and someone should be able to chime in.
In general USB connection of a phone is either a hardwired connector port, bluetooth, or wifi enabled connection that allows either viewing what is from your cameras on your phone or porting your phone content (pictures, video, etc.) to your camera display. Without specific information it is not possible to determine what is referenced.

Regarding satellite option 4 is the only one that will operate going down the road. But you need to understand that it doesn't take much to loose the signal. Trees, mountains, buildings in town, overpass and such. If you primary travel are has you on the Great Plains no problem. Head into the hills and you might be a bit disappointed. Using a DVR or DVDs might be a better option. And as bobsharon stated if you, the driver, can see the TV while driving you might ending having a discussion with a state trooper.
