side window mirror wind noise

We have a 2012 Itasca Meridian 40U. The driver's side rear view mirror is located next to the side window. The window is single pane (allegedly to reduce lawsuits from owners who did not repair fogged double pane ones, and had accidents). At speeds over 50mph (65mph on interstates) the wind noise coming off the mirror is very loud (I assume this is why most manufacturers no longer use this position for the mirror). I have tried moving the mirror arm forward and back. In front next to the edge of the windshield, the wind noise is constant and loud. To the side (standard) and back the wind buffets the glass with variable intensity (constant gusts). We like the coach and travel many miles in it (8K this year), but the wind noise is very irritating. Does anyone have ideas as to how to reduce the noise?

My 2014 Dutch Star came with the two different length mirrors. The arm on the driver's side is short and the mirror is viewed through the side window like yours. On my Monaco, it had the long arm and the mirror was viewed through the windshield, which is what I really liked. It also allowed me to close the shade on the driver's side when I was getting baked, yet still be able to see alongside the coach.

On my Dutch Star, even though it had the short arm, it was angled back. Apparently this was done while they're in production and prevents them from getting smacked. I moved the arm forward so that it's pointed forward and away from the coach. This required that the mirror head be rotated 180 degrees. This solved some of the noise issue.

Another thing that the Dutch Star had as an issue was the window frame was allowing some air in at the joint where the sliding window met the stationary window. I took a piece of 3/8" rubber tubing, about 24" long and brought it on my next trip. In a safe area while on cruise, I was able to run one end of the tube along the window frame with the other end in my ear. You'll hear any leaks if they're there.
