Sidewalk Cable Protector for DP at home
Can anyone recommend a temporary sidewalk cover for my DP power cord for use only when loading and unloading the coach for a few days at a time? My HOA has strict rules about visibility, etc., but I believe this might work:
Channel Ultra-Sidewinder Cable Protector for 1.5" diameter cables
Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No matter what you use, someone will be able to trip over it and sue you into bankruptcy. I've considered somerhing like that as well, but the liability issues make it not worth pursuing. For me, anyway. If anything, I'd try to elevate it. Or run the generator.

That cover looks expensive and way more involved than needed for a temporary cover. I seen covers similar to this used on a driveway or sidewalk.

I've done 2 things here.
I used a HD flat 14g yellow 110v 50' extension cord, clean out a seam (crack) in the side walk and pushed the cord into the crack. No way anyone could trip over it.
When I had to used a heavier cable, I put a sign next to the side walk crossing. Please step over.
It is highly visable on cement and at a angle reducing a trip hazard.

Use gaffers tape to secure it to the sidewalk. This is a non-residue type of tape used to temporarily tape down cables to stages and public spaces. If you can't find a supply, try using some non-residue Duck tape.
Since the hazard is tripping over the cable, taping it down will reduce the risk.

Conduit under the sidewalk. Permanent, one time work, no trip hazard.

2 1/2" PVC
Either tunnel under and push through or cut a channel in the side walk, lay it in, patch over it.

I wonder how the HOA would feel about that.

To just run the fridge and lights while loading and unloading you do not need a fat 50 amp cord. Just run a household extension cord across the sidewalk taping it in the cracks between slabs. It is completely flat that way. All it requires is a dogbone adaptor and a roll of tape to secure the cord to the sidewalk. If you get the lime green tape it is made for sticking to concrete.

Just be careful with those in the yard and unsupervised mowing. A friend of mine lost his 17 year old son about 15 years ago when he drove the riding mower over the cord in the yard and got electrocuted.
