Simple test for water in fuel

Every fuel retailer should have a paste to check for water in his fuel storage tanks.

It comes in a toothpaste size tube and is simply smeared on the tip of a dipstick. (water settles at the bottom of the tank)

Water turns the paste a bright color, typically lime green. Your friendly dealer should be happy to share a swab.
