I would like to add a Sirius portable radio to our 2007 Class A coach. Where do folks mount the magnetic antenna on the fiberglass skin w/o drilling holes? And where do they lay or mount the radio inside (will be using the radio in my truck when we aren't using the motorhome?

You can get full reception if you can mount it under your fiberglass front cap. The fiberglass does not interfere with the signal. Just route it up the side pillars and through and above the overhead cabinet. It does not have to be outside.

Permantently mounted mine under the front cap on the frame. The frame acts as a large ground plane for better reception. Depending on the mount you have, will determine the location of the radio. If you are jacking the signal into the coach radio, the shorter run the better for looks. JM2¢...

How did you mount it? On something magnetic?
Do you have any photos?

I always thought it had to be on the outside.

That is where mine is. No problem with reception.

I just placed mine between the fiberglass insulation that I stuffed in the front cap and the top of the front cap, with the magnetic side down. Works great!

I mounted on the steel frame work magnetically and ran the cable down the a pillar behind the trimwork. JM2¢...

I mounted mine inside the upper cabinets , just watch for roof frame, the fiberglass does not bother. It has worked fine, I ran the cable up the side post.

You didn't tell us who manufactured your coach, but my 2006 Fleetwood Expedition had an xm antena installed. I didn't know it untill I had an xm radio installed in 2010 and the installer found it.

If you wanted to mount it outside, just cut a small piece of sheet metal (steel), paint it, and stick it where you want it with a thin layer of silicone or Dicor caulk.
