Slide Locks

Do most of you folks use slide locks when underway ? While prowling through some upper cabinets in our (new to us) 2016 Windsport, I found a brand new one, apparently never used. I'm not sure where it would be installed, or if it is an important thing to use. The manual says to remove them before extending the slide (really ?) but no hint of where to use.

Thanks !

No, but they will help if you have a slide mechanism failure and have to keep the slide from wiggling out as you go down the road. Generally they go at the top center of the slide, behind that big trim piece and push on that trim piece and the outside wall. It is highly recommended that you tie a scarf or a piece of yellow rope or something to them when in use that hangs down inside because they cannot be seen where they get installed. And yes, there is a video or two of what happens the first time you forget to remove something you cannot see.
