Slide Maintenance Thoughts

I got a newsletter from RV123 and one of the articles had a link to Slide Maintenance. In the article it said not to use any powders for the slide seals. I have been using a small amount of baby powder on my seals after reading in several places it is a good practice and so far it does seem to work well for me. I thought it might be a good time to discuss what is best and what works for everyone now that many of us are going to be doing some winter housekeeping to keep our coaches in tip top shape.

Here is the article: Slide Room Maintenance |

People were using baby powder to keep the seals (inside seal/outside seal) from sticking to each other when the slide was deployed. I don't use it because it was never an issue for me. The silicone treatment sounds like a good idea if your seals are open to the sun. Mine aren't so I leave them alone.

I think the coach mfgr. is more qualified to recommend what to use than any other source.
