My front slide is not closing completely at the front edge. There is a 3/4 inch of travel left to close...trailing edge is closed flush. The slide lock will lock. Can I drive it with this small opening as long as the lock engages?

I would try to recycle it and while you do look for something blocking it from sealing completely. If you have a friend with you, watch the slide from the outside. You could travel with it that way locked but there is a reason it's not sealing properly. Let us know what you find. I will check back later. We are parked.

Recycled and looked...nothing in the path. When it was first extended, it had traveled a couple of inches and there was a pop...but it continued to slide without effort and set correctly...or so it looked. When I retracted it, it seems that the front edge just stays a bit out. Will have to contact Newmar first thing Monday and try to find a repair facility nearby to at least have it checked.

If you can lock it you can move it. Of course I don't know if it will leak. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Keep in touch.

Sounds like it might have skipped a gear on that one side. What make/model slide, electric or hydraulic?

Was told by Lippert that it was ok to drive like that but, if front edge was affected, rain may get past the seal. My problem is with ear edge so not a problem. Having hard time getting into shop for warranty service.

If you heard a pop it may have been the cog wheel popped out of slide rail one hole and the torque bushings need to be released and than retightened after the slide is pushed in and locked.

We had a similar problem with the full wall slide on our 2013 Adventurer on our way to Alaska. We spent almost 3 months on the road with no additional problems due to the slide condition. I did "assist" it in and out as my wife activated the switch to minimize the strain on the motors and gear train.

We had it adjusted at the Winnebago factory in October of last year when we returned. We've had it out several times since then and everything has worked fine.

We have the Lippert hydraulic slides. When we heard a popped the bolts holding the slide assembly broke. They had to replace all the bolts. The good part was that I was able top push the slide in so that it would seal correctly and the locks would work correctly.
