Slide out
Can I extend my HWH powered slide out if I had to manually retract it?
I will not be able to get it fixed right away as we're traveling to Florida, will have RV tech fix it when we arrive, but I'm wondering if there's any problem with extending it so when can have more room until it gets fixed?

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
Sorry I can't answer that question. I would call HWH about that. Keep her between the ditches!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Welcome to irv2.
Not sure about your Coachman slide and slide system, if its a motor driven slide you may have a torque nut that you can release and push slide in manually than lock in position, for travel.
Some one with your type coach will answer for you.
Enjoy the forums and safe travels.

It's a lot of work, but yes you can. The procedure for releasing gear or hydraulic pressure varies with the brand of the slide mechanism, but since you got it in, you probably know how to do that.

You can open the valves on the HWH system and retract the slide manually. Our MH came with a boat trailer winch on a special bracket just for that purpose. Set it over the entry door step, hook the strap to a strap mounted under the couch. Open the valve and winch it in. That's for the main slide, the bedroom slide is a different story. They say to get two big guys and push it manually.

The answer is yes, but it's a PITA and requires several people. Here is the procedure from HWH.

I would suggest you leave it in and wait until you reach your destination to get it fixed.
