Slide out

I have a 2000 Pace Arrow and the living room slide out keeps creeping out as I am driving down the road. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem?
Thanks for any responses.

Does your unit have lock arms and are they manual or automatic. If they are automatic then check to see if they are working.

I have an 04 Pace Arrow and there is a lock that you can release if the slide won't work so you can put it in or out manually. This lock may be "unlocked", check your owners manual or look at the motor to shaft connection. I am assuming it is electric.

Sounds like the auto locking mechanism is not locking when the slide is in. They do fail and the replacement motors are in the neighborhood of 500.00 give or take about 100.00.
They are not user serviceable and I'm not sure if they are rebuild-able. Its one issue that has popped up on other forums.
Thinking that if mine goes south that I will disassemble and see if I can find what part fails and try to fix it.
I still like a challenge. If its not working, can not do much worse then have allot of odd parts and then again if I can fix one it will save me a few bucks(Not getting payed for my time now a days anyway)and will be a little smarter. Thing is will I remember what I learned???

Dick.

Look at motor where the shaft goes in.

Actually, these are probably a clutch located on the end of the motor.
