Slide Out Issue with 2001 Forest River Reflection

We purchased a 2001 Forest River Reflection a few weeks ago. The slide out worked fine the first few times and now it will not extend. When we push the button there is nothing, no buzz, no hum, no clicking. We did have an RV mechanic look at it and he said that it was the electronic component on the Dewald Hydraulic Motor and that he could not get that part because Dewald has been out of business for 10 years. He said that we would have to replace our hydraulic system with a Lippert for $5,000. Apparently, our hydraulic system operates both our jacks and our slide. If that is the case why would our jacks be working but the slide not work?

We were also told that there is a way to manually override the hydraulic system and manually extend our slide. We have done a ton of research on how to do this and can not find instructions on how to do it. Is there anybody out there than can tell us step by step how to manually extend our slide?

Thank you.

not sure what control board you have for the slideout, but i had a problem with my bedroom slide not working on occasions. it would come in, then wouldn't go out. My MH is a 03 fleetwood discovery which uses 3 power gear modules located on the driverside rear, in the shorepower cable area. found that when i jiggled the wires coming into the module it would work for a while. i replaced with a new module, and it's back to new. the problem with the old one was that where you plug in the wires, the plug holder some bad soldier and was loose. i put in the new one but i re soldiered the old one and will keep it just in case the other 2 modules go bad...
