slide out not retracting all the way

I have a Newmar Dutch Star 2010 40' that the front passenger slide out chain came apart. I got it back to gather and it worked for a year but now the gear with the nipples for the track on the bottom of the slide out is hitting the holes a little late and I think this is why the front stops before retracting all the way leaving the slide out sticking out three inches. has any one have some suggestions. Do I need to take the chain off to see if it can be adjusted that way (this is a real hassle with the space there is to work in)?

Welcome to iRV2 .

I have no experience with the slide drive you describe .
But if you go to the " Owners Forums " click on the " Newmar Owners " and look through the " Sticky " posts for Quick fixes and easy mods , there are downloadable files on slide adjustments; and a TON of other info on Newmar problems and repairs.

Welcome to irv2, jnickf
Below in my signature you will find links to many answers for your Newmar.
Is it coming up the ramp OK when extended?
You need to be plugged into shore power or running the GEN the motor needs a good 12v to operate.
You may need to increase current to the control pot for motor.
This link will lead you to all TSB's, brochure, owners guide and much more. QT's # 3 has PROBLEM SOLVERS threads one being slides.
QT's 1 & 2 have all slide info, jacks, AC's and much more.
Hope to see you on the forum, enjoy and safe travels.

Well, mine started out... Locks unlocked and stopped right there... I'm not sure if it's A controller or something else.. I have tried the hit the lock with the mallet and that didn't work...
