Slide out not sealing

The large slide out on my (new to me) 2005 Bounder 32w does not seal at the top when closed. The bottom is closed tight, but the top isn't, so it leaks. Is this an adjustment I can attempt or something for a mechanic?

You can try raising the window side of the slide up which should tighten up the top. I'm assuming you have Powergear slides and you are referring to the flat floor main slide. If so, each slide track probably has a jack bolt where the track attaches to the under side of the slide. You just loosen up the bolts that lock the bracket to the track and in your case rotate the jack bolt counter-clockwise.

Before doing this, mark the location of the bolts that lock the brackets to the tracks so you can return to the same position in case it doesn't help.

One thing to check before doing anything though is if your paint/graphics on the slide line up with the corresponding patterns on the outside coach walls. If they don't that's a good indicator that the slide height has changed.

You can get the Powergear maintenance manual and troubleshooting sheets by going to Lippert Componets website.

What he said. Had the same issue on mine and the dealership tech adjusted it as navigator336 described.

I have an appointment to get a state inspection this afternoon and they are going to take a look at it. Hopefully a simple fix as you describe.

It turns out the top of the slide out wasn't closing completely because the little bar on the end of the topper that keeps it from unfurling on the road had shifted its position and was bumping into the wall. I can't believe I didn't notice it. Anyway, it was fixed -- cheap!

Don't you just love it when it works out like that?
