Slide out problem

Have a 40' Newmar with two slide outs. One is not closing all the way on one side only. Reading that it's timing or alignment. Does anyone know a quick do it yourself fix? I was reading forums which stated that you can loosen a nut and have the slide out go in and out a few times to re synchronize then tighten nut again. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'd suggest posting this question in the "Newmar" owners forum, and you'll get some info In a snap! I don't have any slide suggestions other than calling Newmar their customer service is top notch.

Not familiar with Newmar but on our Thor, you can retime the slides by opening the slides about 10 inches then close them making sure to hold down on the switch for about 5 seconds longer after they have closed. Then open them all the way out, again holding down on the switch for 5 seconds afterward. Do this about 5 times - should be back in time.

Another issue we had a while back. The rubber on the slide actually rolled under and I couldn't get the slide to close or extend more than 6". I took the cover off on the inside and slid a small scrapper down the inside to pull the rubber back out.

Hope this helps;

Post in the Newmar section and include your model and year coach. Newmar does have their own slide design, used in most of the units. So tricks for others makes won't work.
