Slide out won't slide

Today, when I was trying to extend my driver side front slide out one locking arm retracted the other didn't retract moved a little, arm is straight but off the the rv sightly. I've checked all the fuses. When I hit the retract button the voice comes on to say get out of the way the slide out are moving but nothing happens. This is a 2006 dutch star 41 foot. The other two slides work fine. The rv is in my driveway a very level surface. If anyone has any suggestions on what I should try before I take it to an RV shop I would be very appreciative. I have enjoyed reading this forum for about a year now and enjoy the post and comments. Have a safe and wonderful Labor day weekend.

John inside the cabinet behind the locking arm you'll find a plastic covering. Remove it and it will reveal the locking arm. (You'll need a square nut driver) Make sure nothing is restricting it. Check for power to the arm. There is a sensor that determines when the arm is fully unlocked. If it does not sense this the slide motor will not operate.

Best of luck, Keep us posted and Happy Trails!!!

In our storage bay there is an access panel for the hydraulic slide actuator. I found our panel was sagging because all the screws were not installed. There is a switch in this panel that must make contact for the locks to either lock or unlock

I read on line that if you take a rubber mallet and hit the lock arm plate it will make the magnets that are stuck together open up an the slide will work. I tried this and the lock arm retracted and the slide worked. This was a low tech solution but it worked. From now on a rubber mallet is traveling in my tool box. Thanks for all those who replied.

I'm glad the fix was easy.

Thanks for telling us what you did.
