Slide question

Hello I'm new to the forum from Illinois. I have an A class gas RV. Relatively new to the RV fun, a newbie of sorts.
At the dealer walk-through after our purchase the technician indicated that no maintenance was required on the rubber around the slides. I noticed recently on the slides the rubber seal doesn't fold all the way out as illustrated in the picture below. Just wondering if it's indicative of a problem. Thanks In advance for any suggestions.

Put talcum powder on seal. This way it will slide and not grab on sides.

Some of us use '303 Protectant' on seals (and tires, vent and A/C covers, dashboards, jacks, etc)...

Same here. DW uses the pole for pulling manual awning to reach the higher places. I don't think it even matters except when you are in very hot or cold weather and you want the best seal you can get.

Run a strip of black weatherstripping/molding down the vertical side of the extended slide out next to the sweep, it will push the sweep into position as it goes in or out.

It is also advisable to properly treat your seals/sweeps on a regular basis as well. Talcum powder is moisture absorbent and will dry out your seals over time.

Welcome to iRV2.

Wax on the wall of the slide and spray lube on the rubber ( or talcum powder); the seal may still fold under but much easier to flip; I use my awning rod too.
If no heavy rain is forecast, during your stay , probably not necessary.
