Slide Slickers

I want to remove the carpeting and replace with Allure Ultra (interlocking). I have been reading the forum and my concern is with the dinette / couch slide marking the floor. There are alot of people trying different ways to modify the plastic slide buttons or rollers. A few have mentioned "Slide Slickers". While being expensive, they seem to make sense. How well do these work and how many are needed? Do they stay in place when the slide is retracted? Thanks for all of your opinions.

I found a silicon impregnated acrylic sheet at Tap plastics. Very pricey but I found a small piece in the remnant bin. Cost $30 and I had leftovers after making new slides.

We replaced all our carpet with Mannington Adura about 18 months ago. We use slide slickers for the deep level floor slide on the road side. That slide is about 16 feet long and we use 4 slickers. One on each end and then 2 more equidistant between those two. They have worked great and we have no marks on our floor. I put them down just before I bring the slides in. They have rubber friction strips on the bottom side to help hold them in place when the slide starts in. Occasionally one will start scooting in with the slide but I just push it back in place with my foot. When the slide is in, the floor of the slide covers all but about 3" of the slicker. When the slides are out, I store them at the galley end of the opposite slide where there is a space.

Long story short, they work fine and are easy to use.
