Slideout Maintenance

What is recomended to spray on gears. White lithium grease would attract dust. Would you just use a dry silicone spray. What brand?

Some MFG's do not recommend any lube on parts what you can do is wax slide sidewalls and rubber seal around the slide with a 303 protector.
Look in your maintenance manual for coach if you do not have one take a look at this Newmar one on slides.

Look at an rv service center. I do not remember the brand name but there are sprays that are advertised as being specifically made to lube slide out gears.

Homedepot has a product made by "B'laster"that is called Garage door spray lubricant. It's a dry lub (does not attract dust or dirt) Read the back of the can.Lot's of can be used on one of those is Worm gears.

As said above check the manual on the Lipperts we have it says not to use anything and I even asked a couple of RV techs and they said the same thing. Just keep the tracks clean and a protectant on the seals.

Interesting. On a Monaco.
My Monaco manual says use non-petroleum spray on the seals. It says nothing about gear lube. But lithium grease (any grease) will attract grit. Not good, me thinks.

Perhaps someone made a video but only provided his opinion?
