Slideout problem

Hi,
We have a problem with the main slideout on our RV. The slide towards the drivers door has a different extention of maybe 3 cogs. We tried adjusting it by lossening the TransTorgue nut on one end that locks to the round driveshaft bar, but it retightens itself. Thought we'd try the other side today. Anybody have ideas for a better fix? We have a 36' Newmar with 2 extentions. The back extention is fine. Thanks!

Hello roadrunner54 and . We are glad to have you join us and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. I am sure you will enjoy it here. Good luck stay safe and keep us posted.
You will need to disconnect one end and run the other out to the same measured distance (main wall to room flange - outside ends) and re-secure drive, to get the room back into time.

RV Wizard is correct, you run the slide part way out, giving you room to crawl underneath the slide and move the round gear opposite the motor away from the the long flat gear. then you measure the distance at both ends of the slide to the coach wall and bump the slide motor until the distance is equal. Then you re-position the round gear so it engages the long flat gear, reinsert the retainer, and you are good to go. If this sounds confusing, go on-line to the Power Gear site and it is explained in more detail. The main reason this problem exists is someone must have tried to close the slide with a compartment door open and broke one of the shear pins that hold the round gear to the shaft. When it was repaired the slide was un-even and the adjustment was not made correctly. How do I know this?? We were camped between two trees when the pin broke and it took two days to figure out how to fix the problem; the slide was stuck in the out position so I missed two days of work. DACOTAH
