Slides won't deploy.

Just arrived in Ventura and went to deploy the slides. Seat appears to be as far forward as it will go. Slide activation key is in on position but nothing.

Have been having a problem the last few weeks moving the drivers seat all the way back for driving. Has to come all the way forward for slides to work.

They are KHW something like that. Not at the coach right now. Any help is appreciated. Can't get clean clothes without bedroom slide extending. Help me please!

Thanks

KWH slides on a 2010 Siena. Suspect switch underneath drivers seat which requires seat all the way forward. Neither slide is working

Are there written procedures in you manual on setting up and deploying the slides.
Transmission in Park
Parking Brake on
Jack down and leveled??
etc

Make sure you follow all the procedures.

Is all the 12 volt systems working on the coach, mine has an isolator switch that shuts off all power. The switch is located in a spot that it's easily hit.

Had the same issue and found that the micro switch under the seat was loose.
Worth a look.

Suspect that is the problem. Slides have been working well. No special procedure other than seat forward...key for switch on

Hey Harold....We know you guys. You have the Mini Cooper right? I have been having a bit of trouble moving the seat all the way back. Now that the slides aren't working I'm wondering if the 2 wires running from the front to the back were getting hung up on the seat. Looks like there is electrical tape wrapped around what I hope are butt connectors and one or more have come loose.

Can't be without our slides. FWIW we will be in Menifee Nov 2-22 and then to Palm Springs for two weeks.

Wanted to follow up on my little slide dilemma which has been resolved. There is a micro switch underneath the drivers seat. When you slide the seat all the way forward there is a small little wheel which runs up against a small plate at the front of the seat which essentially activates the connection required for the toggle switches over the door to operate the slides. Hope this doesn't sound too confusing.

Anyways, for some reason my seat is not going forward enough to push up against that little wheel switch. Therefore no connection and no current to the slide control panel. This is all to prevent some duffous like me perhaps from bringing in the main slide and smashing the drivers seat. I asked the tech who was looking at it this morning if I could permanently disable the switch, or essentially fooling it to think the seat was always in the most forward position. He then said he could use a zip tie and tie it up making slide operations normal. Sort of like disabling having to push a clutch in to start a car.

Well slides work fine regardless of seat position. I just need to make sure seat is forward when I am retracting slides. The dealer where I drove the coach to this morning in Oxnard, CA said no charge! Fantastic. We are good to go and continue our journey.....

I'd be leary of the zip-tie fix/bypassing such an important safety feature. Only a matter of time, perhaps in a hurry to get on the road, till you (or some other duffous) bring the slide in without the seat being moved forward and damage/destroy the slide/seat. Seems like the switch or plate could be adjusted or modified to engage a bit sooner; that way the safety aspect is still there. Just my $.02

I agree! Somewhere along the line someone is going to try to put the slide in and hurt something. I would either find out why the seat won't move forward or shim the area where the switch hits so the switch can work.

I too agree that you should fix the problem, not bypass it! That can sometimes get you in a LOT of trouble!
