Sluggish levelers when storing

When I auto store my levelers, one was sluggish in returning and in fact I had to push it back to store. What can be causing this?
Thanks.

Could be dirt in the seal? Could be a slight bend in the ram? Could just be getting old? Could be weak return springs? I had the same problem and tried the normal fixes of cleaning ram and spraying with lubricant and then wiping down. Carried a 2x4 that I used to assist in pushing. Replaced the springs and finally replaced the two rear rams themselves. Start by extending ram, wipe down and lubricate (I used silicone spray) and be sure to wipe down again. If that doesn't help, check your return springs and if not that, rams? There should be quite a bit of advice out there on these and I hope you are a lucky one that has an easy fix.

Only a 2011 so it isn't due to age. Had them extended for a season so I'll try wiping with silicone spray. Thanks.

Yea, I was wondering about age. It does not show on your profile. Probably HWH jacks? Google "HWH jacks troubleshooting" and there is quite a bit of info there. I have found HWH easy to deal with also. Good luck.

I suggest spraying them with silicon and see if it clears the problem.

Mine need to be sprayed every year or so.

Have also used transmission fluid on mine with good success.

Since my problem I have made some 2x8 pads to use under them. They are 4 pieces thick and prevents you having to have all the ram out and exposed to weather and possible sideways pressure. Don't really want to have to replace any more if I can prevent it.
