heres my 2014 fleetwood excursion 300hp... same trailer ,same hill... same speed as the journey....still 24 mph slower than the stock 2016 v10 6 speed...

I think this one might work.

2003 Foretravel U320 38' Priced at $ 139500

2003 Foretravel U320. It's 2 foot over you desired length of 36' but it's got a fire breathing, diesel gulping, turbo charging 10.8 liter (659.1 cu in) Cummins ISM engine pushing out 450 horses of power and 1,450 ft lbs torque twisting energy to an Allison 6 Speed gear turning, mile eating 4060R transmission. We're talking Tim Allan stuff here.

Just to make this rig even better is has an 180 gallon fuel tank which might just get you all the way to that left turn at Albuquerque. Plumb in a propane injector to the tail pipe along with an igniter you can really have some fun.

Just for comparison purposes, our 2012 Discovery 36J has 380 hp, 1050 lb ft of torque, and we have no problems heading up over Wolf Creek Pass on a regular basis, towing a 5000 pound Acadia.

Nice coach. I was parked next to an '04 U280 in November and it was truly a beautiful coach. My coach has a similar power train. The ISM rated at 500/1550. As a full timer, I'm loaded pretty heavy and my coach weighs in at just over 42,000 pounds. I wouldn't describe it as a hotrod but it has very good power for its weight and is able to turn in 7.5 to 8 mpg.

If this engine was built before Sept '02 then it will not have the problematic ERG fuel system.

Sounds interesting Dwarf, but a 2008 might be out of my price range. What are you asking for it? By any chance is it equipped for a washer/dryer?

Yeah, we actually made a trip out there last week and saw that one. It's a really nice coach. Was hoping for a little bit more power, but may have to consider something like this. Also would like to have a washer/dryer, but life is all about sacrifices, right?

There is an '05 Gulf Stream Crescendo for sale locally that seems to meet all my requirements, but I've heard some negative comments about Gulf Stream. Anybody have any experience with them or have any hot sports opinions about them? I would ask on the Gulf Stream page, but I'm sure current owners would speak positively. I need some unbiased input.

Our 36 QSP Allergo Bus at 450 HP and 1250 lbs torque goes pretty good. Empty wt is 29k which leaves 7k + for load. Empty, the power to wt ratio is 64 lbs/hp. Was looking at coaches with ISX engine, but they're longer then we need. Very rarely does our ISL down shift on grades. Once on I-64 in WV it dropped to 5th.

Holy Crap! That's awesome! I don't know where people find these little rigs with the big engines. I'm looking at 36 footers and most of them have 300 horses. If I'm lucky I can find one with the 330hp engine, but nothing even approaching 450! Is this something that's only come about in later models?

Excellent build and chassis=Tiffin Breeze.....good torque, small displacement and lower horsepower. Older units have Maxxforce Navistar. New '16 have Cummins V8. Happy hunting.

Our 2004 36ft Foretravel has a 400hp Cummins ISL. It was the standard engine for our model. Some earlier model 36ft Foretravels had a 450hp Cummins Engine.

I see that this new Cummins 5.0 V8 will also be offered in Toyota's Titan pick up.
Hopefully it will be a good engine......but as of now, its unproven. Think I would wait till 2017 model yr to buy one. But thats just me. Think a lot of later Breeze owners wish they had waited to see how the non-DEF Maxxforce engine was going to do.
