Have an 08 Vectra and want to cut the power to the front radio. Found the fuse but do not know how to disable the fuse. Need help to probably a simple solution. Thank you, Bob

They are circuit breakers.

You can switch from engine to house battery, and when it's on house side the main disconnect relay will cut it off. Does that do what you need? Doesn't sound like it?

Do you have a photo? Is this a fuse that is soldered in line ? Seems as if you are just trying to remove power you could just remove the plug from the rear of the radio.

Can't get to the back of the radio. The radio either draws power from the chasiss battery or the house battery (there is a switch). When drawing from the chasis battery, even with the battery disconnect, it will still draw. Switching to the house battery it still draws with the house disconnect. I have a trimetric to measure amps in and out and with everything on disconnct it's still drawing from one or the other. The reason I want to turn the power off is that I have solar and I want to rest the house batteries while in storage. With the radio drawing power I'm constantly charging and discharging the house batteries. Yes that is the fuse we are talking about.

It sounds like it is the memory line that is giving you the headache. I believe that line of power cannot be disconnected by any way other than physically disconnecting the wire itself. I don't want to be quoted but I believe it is a yellow wire. If everything is off, including disconnects, is it possible for you to check the yellow wire for power ? Obviously the downside to killing that power is that you lose all the data you put into the radios memory.

Why not install a master disconnect switch on either the negative or positive cable of the house batteries? That would kill all parasitic draw. There may be things other than the radio pulling power, such as the LPG detector. If you want the solar to stay connected to the batteries, then you could hook the solar controller to the battery side of the disconnect.
