Small TT towed by Motorhome?
Anyone tow a small travel trailer for their kids to sleep in while you and your spouse sleep (or not  ) in the motorhome?
My family is too young right now for this, but I'm thinking of starting a sinking savings fund to buy a small, light TT for when the kiddos get old enough in a few years.
Nothing too elaborate, enough so they're not eaten by bears or other wildlife but something to give DW and I some privacy.

I have a friend that does that very thing using a single axel TT. He has no problem backing into the site if necessary.

I know one person that does that to house their ferrets in.

There was another family that used to frequent iRV2 that did that. Then they switched to a pickup for a toad, with a truck camper (slide in type). That gave them the second bedroom, and also a toad for local travel if they didn't want to move the MH.

Pulling travel trailer with rv
I have pulled several pop up campers with different class c and class a rv.
Currently pull a jayco 23b expandable trailer for my daughter and her husband and their kids. They drive separately so we have a vehicle to use when we get to destination.
Going down the road in 43 foot dp pulling 23 ft travel trailer is at the maximum length , but works well and saves fuel compared to my daughter pulling the trailer.
All worth it to have family together !

Sounds like a great idea to me. When we used to go out with the whole family (5 kids) on multi-day canoe trips we had 3 tents. One for the boys, one for the girls, and one for us. Same idea, and I bet you'll love it. Good luck.

I really like the idea of pulling a pick-up with a slide-in camper so there's a toad to use for side trips but since you have a shorter gas-engined motorhome, I think the total weight of your trailer will have to be below about 4,000 lbs. You haven't stated what the GVWR and the GCWR of your motorhome is so I'm just guessing/estimating. It doesn't sound as if you want a toad anyway so I'm not being too helpful at all.
If in fact your coach can pull a TT of about 4,000 lbs. GVWR, the FR Rockwood 1905 is a very popular lightweight bunkhouse that is just below the 4,000 lb. GVWR level.

I don't think he mentioned a maximum length but from his profile, his motorhome is 32' long so he could easily tow a trailer of about 20-feet in length and not be breaking any laws pertaining to maximum length, correct?

Why not just pack a tent for the kids to set up next to the RV? They'll probably like the tent -- more like 'real camping.' That's what we did.
