Smart Wheel Fuse blows

My smart wheel has an intermittent problem. When operating, all the functions work normally. Then a problem starts....The supply 12v, 5amp fuse will blow when the ignition is turned on. I have replaced the fuse with no pattern of failure. The result is the wipers are moving and cannot turn off. So, turn ign off and replace fuse. I can travel for a couple of hours, stop, restart ok, travel some more and restart with a blown fuse. Have looked at cabeling to see if any bare wires are grounding....steering column, wires to bay where 5a fuse is located and under dash...no indication of wear or bare wires.
Have a trouble shooting guide that addresses logic problems and power switching.
Q: Anyone have a similar problem with their smart wheel?
Thx. Bob

MODs: Any chance of moving this to the Country Coach Forum? I know there are a lot of owners out there willing to help.

If the mods don't move it, I would pose the question here.

Hi: Good news! I had a run up I5 today with lots of rest stops to Finally narrow down the problem. Turns out the toad electrical cable was the bug. I had a solid failure for three rest stops to narrow down. Then at our campsite I swapped a known good cable...no more blown fuses.
So, took ohmed out the bad cable..no sign of a problem.
Took apart the bad cable and still no sign of a problem.
Reinstalled and tested ok. May still have a future problem but know now the running lites triggered the event/blown fuse. All other problems were the after effect not the originator.
So it goes.
Will post on the CC board. Thx, Bob
