Snowbird-looking for nesting area

One more cold snowy winter and we will be joining the snowbird club. Trying to do some research ahead of time. Looking for an affordable, clean, relaxing rv park central to north-central FL. Any suggestions would be great.

If you don't want cold weather. Go anyplace from the Big lake South. It can get cold up North.

Williston Crossings is a nice park 20 miles SW of Gainesville in which we Wintered for one season. Then decided that the dryer air in the desert SW was a nicer way to go.

We visited a fantastic park right outside of Ocala called Wilderness RV Resort.

Welcome to Wilderness RV Resorts At Silver Springs, Florida (FL)

They have lots for nightly stays as well as lots for sale. The park was super clean and everyone we met there was very friendly. If you stay for 6+ nights they put you in the REALLY nice area (we only stayed for 3 but our spot was still outstanding).

The grounds were kept beautifully, had a few dog runs, hiking trails and a really, really good restaurant right on site.

The location is technically in Silver Springs, FL which has some really cool history and seemed like a nice little town. Walmart and a grocery store were about 5-10 mins away.

They honor Passport America so we stayed for like $22 a night. Amazing value in my opinion.

Gulf Coast area between Ocala and Tampa is generally pretty reasonable and includes a LOT of possibilities. You really need to go down to see it yourself. Find a place to stay for a week or 10 days allowing you to explore the area around you, and move on. Won't take you long to find a place that works for YOU.

You might want to stay away from this part of Florida for awhile.

American Condominium Park

You might look here. Own your own property or there are some rentals; park models and RV lots. Nice amenities and great people.

Central Florida - Leesburg, Eustis, Clermont area.

Clermont is a bedroom community of Orlando. Close to turnpike to head North or South.

Eustis is an old Citrus Grove community that has a small town feel but still enough of stores. On the backside of Eustis, on State Road 44, is an RV park that has full-time and snowbird lots. It gets crowded during the winter months so I am sure you can make a lot of new friends.

All areas are about 1.5 hours from the East or West Coasts.

What is your definition of "cold"?

Cool

Currently, for a few days, I'm staying at an RV community in Titusville, Fl. This is my first time here, but I have been impressed with many of the "houses". Since it's an RV community, folks purchase their lots or houses and then they are rented out for the times they are not staying here. We have a simple RV lot, but most lots have an RV Port or there are houses with RV garages with full hookups.

I'm sure this place is packed, during snowbird season, but it's with checking out.

Here's their Website: Florida RV Resorts | Central Florida RV & Golf Resort - The Great Outdoors

This park doesn't have a pool or golf course but the sites are full hookup and large.
