For us it was love at first sight! Walked in an knew immediately that this was the coach for us.

Unfortunately, I have fallen in love 4 times.....

Its only a problem if the refrigerator fails. Does not happen often and then the problem is not insurmountable.

We could have a similar problem with the fridge in the S&B. We put in a large fridge that we brought into the house by taking out the sliding patio doors. Later we replaced the patio doors with a garden door. If the fridge quits we will have to remove the garden door to exchange the fridge.

Just buy one that is what your looking for.
Anything that breaks can be fixed. Do some due diligence prior to purchase.
We went to one rv show and then bought the first coach we went to look at. Love it, use it and are camping with it as I type this.
Good luck. You only live once.
But then you didn't need to look any farther...did you?

We looked and shopped for five years. We have gone full circle with brands, floor plans, new, used, to the point of almost forgetting the whole idea! Then we stepped in to a Dutch Star and knew we were home. In hindsight, I'm not sorry for the time spent researching. It has been a great education. We have not given a second thought to our choice.

Trish - you are one of the first people who have honestly said they have a gap between what they want and what they feel they can spend. Nothing wrong with that.

June is not very far away. Time passes quickly. Starting the search after your house sells will leave you looking for accommodations or force you to quickly make up your mind on a unit you are not in love with.

Life is all about compromises. Get the unit that works for you regardless of its age.

You are closer to purchasing than we are. We're planning on 20-22 months down the road, and we're already looking. The problem is ... we already found what we want! Now we can only drool over it for a period of time. Hopefully we won't get confused along the way and find something else we would rather have and get all confused again ........

Good luck in your search. My only advice would to BE PATIENT as you look. Hurried purchases usually cause problems later on.

Also, you should be commended on trying to stay within your budget and money constrictions. The coach should be an ASSET ... not a LIABILITY.

I'm officially "in love" but I'm not ready yet and its more than I want to spend..... conflicted!

2009 Newmar Ventana 3961 Class A Diesel Grand Rapids, MI Midway RV

Needs all new tires (has original) and full house/chassis inspection and resides in WI and I'm in TX. No maintenance records :(

Its priced lower than same year/models I've seen elsewhere.

Thoughts?

Lots of nice things about it. Several things I am not fond of but it is personal preference. (I do not like the terraced drawers in the bedroom, and the single washer/dryer - I would want stackable). Minor things in the grand scheme.

It appears to be well priced but how does it compare with NADA? NADA is only a guideline but may be used to negotiate if on the right side.

My thought is if this is the one that tickles your fancy, find a reputable mobile RV repair person who (obviously for a fee) will give it a look over and certify what is right and what is wrong with it. That surely is not a guarantee that it'll be 100% OK. None of them ever are but at least for a couple hundred bucks you'll have an idea if it is worth pursuing. Another point to consider is that the asking price and the sale price are generally two different numbers. If the guy looking at it determines that X, Y and Z need fixing those are bargaining tools. "CASH IN HAND" helps convince a hungry dealership to sell a unit. Take the time to research the value in NADA and then do a national search to see what that model is selling for elsewhere. Check in the Newmar forum to see what other have paid for that model and naturally what problems they have had. There is always that one person who got an unbelievable deal and the person who paid top dollar. Toss those numbers out and stick with the averages. There are a ton of sites where RV's are sold so all you need to do is type in your Newmar model and "for sale" right after it to access those sites. The IRV2 Newmar site is just around the corner.

Good luck !!!
