Solar install

Just finished my solar install on my Coachman Cross Country. Installed four 100 W Grape solar panels I bought at Home Depot. Also installed a Morningstar TS-45 solar charge controller. Hardest part was running the wiring from the roof to the rear compartment. Seems to be working fine. Will test it out in two weeks when we go camping at June Lake. No hookups

Looks like you did a nice job. You obviously know your around wiring Let me know how it works for you. I installed a solar system on my coach a few years ago and it has worked great. I have never fully tested it like I want to in a long dry camp, but I will one of these days!

I have 10 of those Grape 100watt panels on my roof that I picked up from Home Depot. When they have sells on them the price with free shipping can't be beat.

I have mine in two banks of 5 parallel panels and noticed one bank was continually a couple amps lower than the other. Troubleshot down to one panel that seemed to have good voltage, at least under no real load, but would only put out half the current of the other panels. Diodes checked out good, and grape replaced the panel for me without any issues so I have to say I'm pleased with their customer support.

Let us know how it works out for you. For the most part, I really like how our solar makes dry camping so much nicer.
