Solar wire type, Combiner, Charge Controller

Sorry guys should have put this question in with my last since it is related. I used the MC4 10 Awg Solar wire from the solar panels to the combiner box, I am trying to figure out what type of wire to run from the combiner to the charge controller and then from the charge controller to the batteries. I am getting mixed google searches...was thinking about THHN, but do not know if that is sufficient.

Is the wire from the combiner box exposed to sun/weather?

I used 2 AWG welding cable from the combiner to the charge controller, and 2/0 AWG from the charge controller to the batteries. you should use 4/0 AWG on big systems. you can not go too big, you can go too small and loose watts.

The type of wire is not as important as size. You should be using a loom with any type wire you use that is exposed to the weather.

No inside in one of my bays the combiner is about 3 feet from the controller and the controller is about a foot from the last t-105, but the last two t-105 are 3 feet from the original battery bays because I can only put two. The 6 awg for the combine just fit, could probably do 4 awg and the 4 awg for the renopy mppt controller the same.

in my case, the terminals on controller restrict the size of wires. between combiner and controller i am using 6awg and between controller to battery bank is 4awg. i am using 48v nominal from pv though.

That is exactly my situation, but I can try to see if a 4 awg will fit in the combiner and maybe a 2 wag in the controller. Does not matter I do not have enough wire to go from the controller to battery so maybe this was a good thing.
