We have a solid surface stove top cover that is made from the same material as the counter. What I would like to do is cut it and add a hinge so you didn't have to remove it completely to use the range. Just fold it up out of the way. Has anyone done this? Will a wet saw cut the Corian material? Also, how does the hinge attach?

Standard woodworking tools are fine for working Corian. The Corian is only one half inch thick so it might not be strong enough on the edge and might just break after you install the hinges.

It looks like common 1/2" screws,but precision pre-drilling would be needed.
I would add epoxy glue under the hinges before putting in the screws.

We had a foldable 2 piece Corian cover over the range in our 2001 Winnebago Adventurer. The Corian was attached to a hinged angle iron frame. The frame was hinged at the rear to the stove and also in the middle so the Corian would fit under the microwave. When the cover was opened the rear piece of Corian was slightly over the center of vertical leaning to the rear of the range. The second piece was hinged at the top of the first piece and folded downward so the Corian could be seen.
What we had worked fine. However I believe the pieces were bolted to a steel frame because the Corian was to heavy to support it's own weight. The stress of opening and closing it would have easily pulled the screws out or cracked the material.
