Ray:

Before buying a stone shield, talk to folks with one and the advantages/disadvantages they pose. Do you really want to have to unscrew 8 screws to drop the top in order to get at the generator, to fill the windshield washer, etc. Do you want to have dirty water streaks behind the shield every time you wash the windshield? Do you want to pay to repair fiberglass if the shield is not properly sized and catches on road dips or pulls out when backing out of a driveway?

I thought it would be a great idea and the folks at Summit are very helpful in trying to solve problems and I can't fault them.

Lastly, do you want to pay to have the front holes filled in and repainted after finally having had enough? I'm on the way to the factory to have that done!

Ray, Welcome to the IRV2, before you buy the solid block shield, take a look at Diamond Shield film that Newmar puts on their coaches, I've had very good results protecting the front of my coach and I believe most Newmar Owners would agree. Ed.S

Ray, I have bus armour on our coach but it is in three pieces. One is attached only to the front of the generator electric slideout. THis allows getting into the front with out removing the armour. It is a little more difficult to clean behind but it does stop stones from reaching the painted front cap the armour covers.
