Many thanks! Just wasn't familiar with the terms, though I do have a "dual foot gauge" for my rig..

You can purchase Dually Valve Stems from this company that are solid metal and reach from the inside dually to the outside dually. They replace the OEM valve stems that come on the coach. You do have to remove the wheels and break the tires down to install them. I have been using them since 2004 and haven't had any problems.

They also sell the alligator valve caps that allow you to air up/check the air pressure of your tires without having to remove the valve caps.

I would endorse changing the entire valve stem and obtaining a Borg duly. It's a superior product and while the initial outlay for the valve and the labor to take the tires off and have them installed is a serious number it certainly is well worth the money. We also had balancing beads putting our tires in the process. Altogether we probably have about $350 in the entire endeavor. Cheap piece of mind.

There are two different styles of dual foot gauges. Or has a straight-on end you push and an angled end for pulling. The other one has both ends offset. For my 19.5 wheels the latter gauge works perfectly. I can spend $350 on gas this way. ;-)

I refused to get the installed dually valves. Extenders (solid) would not work due to needing slight angle. I went with small extensions for outers. For insides I went with these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have had a lot of extensions (braided) but these seem to be the best built I have ever found. I prefer this method as I can change tires around as needed and I don't have to pay some dumb-a$$ tire place the money to take tires off and then put back on.

For you guys that trust your tire shops to do work, have you ever watched them torque down your lug nuts? I have and they are idiots for the most part. Spin down the nuts to whatever the air gun is set to (200, 400?, who knows) and THEN they throw a torque wrench on and tell you it's good now torqued to 175 (my tires). Morons. I can't trust a shop to do anything unless I am standing over them.

Can you use a tpms with those? My tireminder had no reading with the flex extenders.

I use TST and they work just fine with them.

I just had to replace a couple solid extenders that were too short to get thru the grommet on the outer wheels yesterday.
I found this place after a lot of searching. The have a lot odd of stuff no one else in San Diego seems to have. I found 6" steel extenders to replace my 4 1/2" extenders put on by commercial tire in LA a couple months back.
Luckily my EEZ tire monitor showed me 30 lbs low air on an inner dually on the way back from camping last weekend, turned out to be the solid extender was loose apparently letting the air out. Now with the longer ones they fit snugly thru the rubber grommets on the outer wheels which was not the case with the originals. Every day is a learning experience....

Alligator caps are flow through caps - negate the need to remove a cap to add air, see: https://www.amazon.com/Alligator-V2B...=alligator+cap
How does this differ from leaving the valve caps off a normal stem

I found this by accident. EEZ has all sorts of extensions. They have straight ones up to 6.5" long. And very reasonably priced.

Tony,

Click on the link you referenced in your above post for the Alligator Valve caps and it will show you the difference. The alligator ones keep dirt away from the seals and you don't have to remove them to add/check air in the tires like you do with regular valve caps.

I like the 45 degree ones they have. If they were only longer.

Depending on the design of extender the valve core may not be getting depressed by the Tireminder sensor. Is the core pin just at the outer surface of the extender? If not it may have been cranked down too far by installer.

I wasn't aware that they were adjustable. I'd have to look at them again. I ended up just taking them off and attaching the tpms to the regular valves. It's fine but a pain to take them off and add air.
