Something is moving! What do you think it is?

Picture is from throne room. Vanity shelf in front of throne on drivers side not in a slide.

In your first picture, there appears to be a bubble in the wall board. Does the wall have any play in it? If not, check the vanity. It looks to me like that is what has moved.

That is weird. The upper wall paper where it meets the wall cabinet doesn't look like the cabinet is moving yet the base cabinet top appears to be, yet the paper along the base cabinet face doesn't show movement.

Definitely check the wall. Also make sure the countertop is tight

I suspect the problem is the corner of the base cabinet needs clearance between it and the wall. Temperature and moisture will move them independently. Then you can toss in the stress of driving the box down the road.

Have the exact same thing on my Vista. Even the same area. No clue why. Hadn't thought about movement, will check it out.

That wall is probably not moving, or it would be in the next state by now.

Just speculating here, but it is most likely that the cabinet or the wall vibrates in a circular motion when you drive. For example, looking down at the countertop, the cabinet would be touching the wall when the cabinet moves toward those wrinkles, but not touch when it moves back.

You may ease the condition by spraying some silicone lube on the wall at that point.

Trying to repair it could be difficult.

firedoc,
If ANYTHING is moving, it's an infinite movement. Unless you see direct scratches, "slotting" of screw heads that fasten the base cabinet to the wall, there's no way to really measure that kind of thing. I've seen it on multiple coaches. The "movement" can be as little as just a few thousandths. As your coach is traveling down America's "perfect" highways and freeways, (a bit of sarcasm there), EVERYTHING in a motorhome moves some. It's just not measureable. And the wall paper is just not strong enough to resist bunching up. Kind-a like ever so slightly pushing on a corner of carpet. It eventually bunches up but, you don't see the actual movement 'cause it's so gradual.
We have some of the same issues with a corner or two on our wall paper.

Before I'd go into thinking about any form of structural adjustment which, you'd more than likely accomplish nothing, I'd simply slice some of those ripples and carefully remove small amounts and reglue what could come back together to be flat. If done with care, I'd bet my house that you'd never see the repair.
Scott

Thank you for all the reply’s. One other clue, and it may be very germane, is that the rattletrap Splendide w/d is behind that cabinet. Because it makes so much noise when it runs DW wanted me to do something. So I put some sponge rubber insulation between the w/d and the wall. Quieted it down but may be creating enough movement in interior wall to do this. Your answers (except haunted) led me to this thought. As long as it’s not a major structural problem I will relax. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I don't think it's anything to be alarmed about. I've seen it a lot in older motorhomes. Vibrations and temp swings probably cause it.

I would go with the temp swings and vibration, but I would certainly keep an eye on it!

Question: Is this something noted which has not changed, or is it something that is getting progressively worse? You have not said how old the RV is, or if it was present from new. If present from new, it may have occurred during installation if the cabinet was jammed against the wall, damaging the covering applied over the luan, or vice versa.
