Sony Bravia Sound system

Hi there I hope this is the best way to get an answer to the question. First I have a tv that is hard to gain access to. Goes up and down in the key cabinet. My AV system will only play a cd in the surround system. TV will only play through the TV speakers. What’s the trick to get TV sound Through the surround speakers?
Thanks for your help

Your AV system should have an AUX input. You would connect an audio out from your TV (I use an RCA stereo audio out from the TV, optical would be better if the tv has it and your av has an optical input) to the AUX in and then select AUX on the AV system when watching the TV.

Thanks

Thanks Gramps I’ll give it a try. I don’t have access to the back of the TV. I hope the tv has the connection already in place. I have removed the panels above the TV. The wires are covered in sticky black electrical tape, I will try and remove the tape and trace the wires down. As a last resort I will take the Tv down.
Thanks again
Judy
