Read the entire manual including CDL and a much better understanding will be attained. I never regret that I had a CDL and read that section. Lots of good information. Now, I stated, "read", not study, but that is not a bad idea either.

re the driving test...
Did they give you any instructions about the driving test, like no toads???
I wonder what happens when you show up with the 4 down toad attached as that will be what 99.9% of my driving will be !

and you say "Sorry, can't parallel park"

will probably ask that I remove the toad?
